How long does it take to perform a Smile Design?

The time required to perform a smile design varies depending on the material in which they are made when it comes to direct resin veneers, it takes only a morning or afternoon, but if you use materials such as porcelain or ceramic (Dental Contact Lenses, Lumineers, Veneers or porcelain crowns) treatment can take up to a week.
In more complex cases, such as when Smile Design is performed on dental implants, it can take up to two weeks.
What is the difference between Direct Resin Veneers and Porcelain Veneers?
Resin Veneers
- They have a low cost.
- They are prepared in one or a maximum of two consecutive appointments.
- They last approximately 8 to 10 years.
- They require minimum maintenance once a year to polish and shine again.
- They can change color.
Porcelain Veneers
- They are produced in two appointments and take between 5 and 8 working days to be installed.
- They do not lose their shine.
- They do not need much maintenance, only a dental cleaning at least once a year.
- The color is uniform and permanent.
- They are stable, there is no shrinkage.
- They do not stain.
- They do not contain bubbles or pores inside.
- They cannot be repaired, in case a veneer breaks it needs to be redone, which may take a couple of days.
- They have an approximate duration of 12 to 15 years.
